I Sold a Mac Mini While Doing the Dishes
It was a regular Wednesday night in Garrison. The dishes were piling up, so I propped my phone against the faucet and put one of my old Mac minis up for auction on eBay between plates.
While the listing went live, I kept talking to my AI assistant like it was a coworker in the next room. "Open Safari on the Studio." Done. "Post on X." Done, and it's live. "Open a document and type hello world." Across the house, with nobody sitting there, Pages opened and the words appeared.
Then my phone buzzed: the Mac mini sold. I listed it and sold it without ever leaving the sink or drying my hands.
I'll be honest, it's a little eerie to watch your computer work on its own while you're elbow-deep in suds. It's also the most useful thing I've set up all year, and it's locked down so only the machines I choose answer to it.
The expensive part of AI isn't the brain anymore. It's the hands: getting the AI into the tools and machines where the work actually happens, so it does real work while you do something else.
If you run a small business in East Texas and you've wondered what AI can actually do for you beyond writing emails, let's talk.
